Trails are in great shape, they are well maintained by the Dept of Natural Resources, and there are a varity of loops, and long stretches. Some trails are sandy, some have rocks, some are flat stretches, some have lots of hills. Some picnic tables are set up throughout the forest trail system, with hitching posts and mounting blocks. Makes for a great day of riding, with a stop for picnic lunch somewhere in the middle. Trails are marked with maps on posts, horse camping is available at Palmyra Horsemans Park.

Great place to ride, also the southern Unit is now connected as of fall 2004 so day rides are possible from one end to other. The Horsemans Park in Palmyra is Super and there are many groups that meet there and are very active in organized rides ,
